Taste the Hungarian Spirit
Taste Hungary's famous Pálinka, magical life-giving elixir. Let's try to say its name. Go on, take the English word "pal" and hold the á…. Paaaal, and then add Inca. Now say together, Pálinka.
Made of carefully selected fruits
Palinka has been made for centuries with the same faith and devotion by all producers. The excellent taste is due to the special natural endowments, the quality fruits and unbroken traditions which date back hundreds of years in Hungary.
“Pálinka” is a traditional fruit spirit (or fruit brandy) in Eastern and Central Europe with origins in Hungary, more exactly known under several names, and invented in the Middle Ages. Protected as a geographical indication of the European Union, only fruit spirits mashed, distilled, matured and bottled in Hungary, and similar apricot spirits from four provinces of Austria can be called “pálinka”. While palinka may be made of any locally grown fruit, the most common ones are plums, apricots, apples, pears, grapes and cherries, but any fruits can be used. With an ABV (Alcohol by Volume) of 40 – 80%, it’s enjoyed by Hungarians as a proper way to either start or end a meal.
